Marine Park Houses For Sale shows things are picking up
Things have really been picking up as far as home sales in Marine Park is concerned.
The thing sellers need to keep in mind is, when a seller lists their property for an unrealistic price it could seriously backfire on them. You’re probably wondering what I’m talking about.
Let’s say your neighbor has a home that for the most part is identical to yours, yet the price is 20% lower. Other agents and brokers will many times show the home that is overpriced to show what a bargain the other house is. On the other hand sometimes, sellers will have their home listed slightly below market. This is done to hopefully get the inquiries coming in and hopefully get buyers bidding against each other. This is a fantastic strategy however not all sellers understand the concept.
Marine Park is a neighborhood that has the good fortune of having a park that is over 800 acres and included in that is the Mark Park Salt Marsh Nature Center, located at the Inlet of Jamaica Bay. There are also many sports played throughout the park. You’ll see football, soccer, crocket, baseball and most recently there was a rental service added for bicycles. I’ve seen a family of 4 out for a bike ride on a bicycle with a canopy and bench seats. This park really comes to life during the Spring, Summer and Fall months. All year round there is a walking trail that runs in a circle around the park. Additionally, there are paddle ball courts. At the Salt Marsh there are 2 walking trails, one that runs along a stretch of Gerritsen Creek and Mill Creek on the Western side. The other walking trail runs along Mill Creek and Gerritsen Creek on the Eastern side. This is a protected wildlife area with many birds, fish and rabbits.
There are several other small parks in Marine Park. Many of the larger buildings in surrounding neighborhoods have outdoor space that has been declared common areas for the community to use. There are over 5000 homes located in the Marine Park neighborhood. In the last 6 months this neighborhood has had a turnover rate of less than 5%. Which means when looking for Marine Park houses for sale you might have to keep on your toes and get to listings when they are initially posted.
Just up the road on Flatbush Avenue is the Marine Park Golf Course, 2880 Flatbush Ave, Brooklyn NY 11234. This is an 18 golf course, with putting greens, a bar & grill and pro shop. Then there’s the Aviator Sports Center, where you’ll find lots more to do, like ice skating, basket ball, rock climbing and more. One of the oldest farm houses, Hendrick I Lott House, is one of the oldest farm houses left in Brooklyn and a portion was built in 1719 and it is located in the neighborhood of Marine Park, Brooklyn. The house is visible from E36 Street and E35 Street and it’s address is 1940 East 36th Street, Brooklyn NY. In 1800 Hendrick Lott added to the existing house that was built by his grandfather in 1720. The building is considered to be a Dutch Colonial Farmhouse.
